Seasonal Sales Associate
Type: Contract, Hourly
Location: Suffolk County pop-up locations
About the Role
Gone to the Dogs (GTTD) is a pet product company specializing in ethical and handmade accessories and goods for pet parents. We are a small women-led business that is growing rapidly. We’re looking to hire Seasonal Sales Associates to join our lively team. The Suffolk County pop-up team will participate in a series of weekend pop-ups in Suffolk County throughout the summer. This is a great summer position for individuals who want to work weekends. If you’re an animal lover, hard-working and dedicated, Gone to the Dogs is an exciting place to flourish and grow. We should mention that GTTD staff have the opportunity to play with dogs all day!
Responsibilities

Sell and create brand awareness at multiple locations; weekend markets and pop-ups

Represent the brand as an enthusiastic brand representative and work towards daily Sales Goals

Assist customers in finding products and correct sizes, informing our story, and/or promotions
-
Process customers orders via POS
-
Maintain in-depth knowledge of merchandise to provide advice and recommendations as needed

Head sales and customer services; follow opening and closing procedures, including set-up and breakdown of merchandise and displays, tables, and tent at pop-ups
-
Prepare merchandise for sales day: restock, fold, organize, and make sure displays are organized and ready for the day

Prep inventory and store displays as needed; tag, package, and create signage
-
Store and maintain pop-up inventory, fixtures, and event supplies between weekends in a clean, secure, and organized environment
-
Transport merchandise, tenting, tables, and displays to and from pop-up locations
-
Independently execute set-up, merchandising, sales operations, breakdown, and inventory pack-out without direct on-site supervision

Maintain visual merchandising standards across all events
Qualifications

Comfortable working independently and problem-solving in real time
-
Highly reliable, punctual, and responsive communicator
-
Ability to work outdoors in varying summer weather conditions
-
Prior experience with markets, events, brand activations, or independent retail operations preferred
-
Proven retail experience
-
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
-
Able to endure physical labor (e.g standing) and constant activity throughout the day.

Must be able to lift 35 lbs or more

Ability to use POS and software for labeling and pricing

Strong organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
-
Great team player who is open to constructive feedback

Exceptional customer service skills and a desire to engage with customers

Must love dogs and cats
Job Details:
Status: Part-time. Contract. Weekend hours.
Location: In-person at pop-up location in Suffolk County
Pay: Base pay $16.50-$18/hr plus daily performance-based bonus. Base pay commensurate with experience.
Start Date and End Dates: June (or immediate) to September

- Will receive restock shipments from Brooklyn
- Track inventory levels and communicate restock needs proactively
- Troubleshoot basic operational or POS issues during events
Qualifications

Must have a vehicle for transportation of pop-up equipment and inventory set-up (vehicle mileage expense will be reimbursed by the company)
- Must have adequate storage space for inventory, fixtures, and event materials between pop-ups
